Clara Foods started with a simple idea: We all like good food, and we want to feel good about the food we eat. 

We want food to be healthy, great tasting, and affordable without compromising our environment and our values in the process. Unfortunately, today's current food production system makes that nearly impossible. Is it really too much to ask for? We don’t think so. We (Arturo, David and Isha) were brought together by a shared desire to find a better way. We saw technology as a way to make the system work better – for all of us.

At Clara Foods, we’re reimagining food – starting with the egg white. Egg whites are a rich source of lean protein. They have no cholesterol, no fat, and practically no carbs. It’s no wonder prices of egg whites have tripled in the last two years. But meeting the growing demand means egg production also becomes more and more wasteful, unethical, and unsustainable.

Clara Foods wants to change that. With technology, we are upending the decades-old factory farm model to bring safe, high quality food to breakfast tables across the world. Our strategy is to recreate the egg, the same egg we know and love, from the bottom up. By starting at the the level of the protein, rather than the chicken, we can make a better egg white for everyone. Free of allergens and salmonella. More sustainable and affordable.
